Description
Vibrant splashes of red, yellow, and pink colors stand out in a dynamic swirl against cooler blue and white tones, creating a lively abstract composition. The thick application of paint and the use of contrasting warm and cool colors give a sense of movement.
My only brother died last week. He was very loved by many. He instantly saw the face of Jesus. We’ll miss him terribly. I didn’t know how to process my feelings so I got out my paint and started painting, thinking what it must have been like on his journey to heaven. As I painted, I thought about his life and legacy and what it must have been like for him on his journey to heaven. Painting helped me to sort out my feelings of grief and I began the process of healing as I thought about the impact he left on my life. How beautiful heaven must be!
This painting reminds me of the scripture in the Bible, from Hebrews 11:1, where it speaks about the great cloud of witnesses. “Therefore, since we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. This was my brother’s race. He ran it well!
